University of Roma Tre, Italy
The University ROMA TRE is active since 1992 and actually hosts nearly 40,000 students and 12 Departments, about 70 degree courses, 22 PhDs and 80 post-degree courses. The Department of Architecture carries out research on the environmental and landscape quality, climate change, on the relationship between existing historical and development programs, communication and strong involvement of civil society, management of territorial sources and environment. The Doctoral School “Culture and transformations of the city and the region” develops higher education on construction and management of the city and the territory, as well as methods and procedures for the protection and preservation of its assets. The Department is a founding member of UNISCAPE - European Network of Universities, for the implementation of the European Landscape Convention, established in 2008.
University of Siena, Italy
The University of Siena (UNISI: http://en.unisi.it) is one of the oldest in Europe (founded in 1240), organized in 15 departments with more than 2000 researchers and 800 teaching units providing 62 courses to over 16300 students enrolled in 30 BSc and 32 MSc, besides 16 PhD programmes. On behalf of UNISI, the Ecodynamcs Group (EG) will be part of the ENEPLAN project. EG, established in the early ‘90s, is a multidisciplinary team of researchers within the Department of Physical, Earth and Environmental Sciences, made of environmental chemists, biologists, economists, engineers, architects and natural scientists, directed by Prof. Simone Bastianoni (www.ecodynamics.unisi.it). Study subjects are regional and urban systems, agriculture and breeding, ecosystems, industry (including energy production, waste and water management, mobility and manufacturing), buildings and building technologies.
University of Camerino, Italy
Camerino has been a centre of learning since no later than 1200, offering degrees in law, medicine, and literary studies. On April 13th 1753 the emperor Francesco Stefano I of the Habsburg Lorena extended the validity of the degrees from Camerino to the whole territory of the Holy Roman Empire and confers to the rector the title of Palatine Count. In 1861, after annexation by the Kingdom of Italy, the university is proclaimed “free” and in 1958 it becomes a State University. University of Camerino has an important tradition in didactics and scientific research. Attention to the student is the guideline that determines the choices the University of Camerino makes. Nowadays, more than 10,000 students attend the University, distributed among five schools and five campuses (Camerino, Ascoli Piceno, Matelica, Recanati, and San Benedetto del Tronto).
Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency, Malta
MIEMA is Malta’s first energy agency, set up in June 2007, with the support of the IEE Programme and a wide array of public institutions including the Ministry for Tourism & Culture, the Ministry for Energy and Conservation of Water, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Small Business and the Self Employed in the Ministry for Competitiveness and Communications, Local Councils, the Malta Resources Authority, and the University of Malta. Its aims to be a protagonist of the European effort towards a more intelligent use of energy resources, promoting awareness initiatives and contributing to define incisive and targeted proposals and policies of intervention, in order to optimise the use of conventional energy resources and to develop renewable sources.
University of Algarve, Portugal
The University of the Algarve (UAlg) is a young (thirty five years old) higher education public institution located in the southern region of Portugal. UAlg has around 750 permanent teaching and 450 research staff, evidencing a growing commitment towards R&D and Innovation. CRIA is the Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer of the University of Algarve, aiming to promote relations between the university and the industry, increase the technology and knowledge transfer, support the establishment of new firms, generalize the use of industrial property rights mechanisms and developing technological infrastructures to enhance specific research fields in the Algarve. CRIA was born in 2003, from the need of creating a service to support the development of advanced business ideas and inventions born at the university that could migrate to the market.
University "Pablo de Olavide", Spain
The Universidad Pablo de Olavide of Seville is a public university committed to offer high quality education. American University of Beirut, Lebanon

The Lebanese University is the only public institution for higher education in Lebanon. ALMEE (Association Libanaise pour la Maitrise de l’Energie et pour l’Environnement) is “a non-political & non-profit association” committed to better handling of multiple issues and technologies associated with Energy and Environment, not just in Lebanon but also across the Mediterranean Basin and worldwide. Specifically, ALMEE’s overriding goal is to develop, increase and promote scientific methods and means contributing to better management of energy and related economic policies, including the following: Renewable energy sources, Technical issues designed to improve energy efficiency, Techniques like cogeneration, Developing mechanisms for green house gases emissions, and Conducting high-level research regarding energy supply and demand issues.
Mediterranean Durably Green, Lebanon
Founded in 2010 in the Republic of Lebanon, the organization is named “MEDGREEN” Mediterranean Durably Green, incorporated as a non-profit educational, scientific and cultural institution. Holding international conferences, lectures and workshops to exhibit the results of scientific researches, as well as scientific and development studies issues in the Mediterranean Basin Countries. Supporting Joint scientific research between universities and research centers, and exchanging professors and researchers. Developing professional programs to enhance the technical knowledge for a cleaner environment. Encourage the cooperation and exchange of scientific knowledge and skills in all disciplines of clean energy research. Issuing a periodic publication. Enhance the awareness of the opportunities available in the funds and international programs designed to assist developing countries, including Lebanon, to shift to clean energy and sustainable development.
Zewail City of Science and Technology, Egypt
Zewail City of Science and Technology is a not-for-profit, independent institution of learning, research and innovation. Ain Shams University, Faculty of Engineering, Egypt
Ain Shams is the third Egyptian University founded in 1950 as “Ibrahim Pasha University”. In 1954, its name changed to “Heliopolis University” and then to its present name “Ain Shams“. The University has 15 faculty and two institutes, seen throughout the long history of significant growth in the number of faculty members, students and researchers. The University started at a number of 400 faculty members that increased over time to reach 11,472 faculty members in 2014.The number of students enrolled in the two phases Bachelor and licentiate jumped from 7170 students to 100,425. The number of postgraduate researchers increased from 330 in 1950 to Researcher. The Engineering Faculty has four departments: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Architectural Engineering. There is a full interaction between the four departments in the Inter and Multi-disciplinary courses and projects.
Al-Balqa' Applied University, Jordan
Al-Balqa' Applied University (BAU) was founded in 1997. It is a distinctive state university in the field of Bachelor and Associate Degree Applied Education, enhancing the advantage of education, applied at the level of bachelor's and diploma, and in particular in the areas of engineering, and overwhelm the overall character of scientific specialties. Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan
Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) was established in1986 in the northern part of Jordan. It has 11 faculties including 52 academic departments. The number of graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled in the university exceeds 26,000 students; about 25% of them are from more than 50 countries, with more than 800 faculty members. In 2011, Jordan University of Science & Technology (JUST) has begun to make its mark in the QS World University Rankings which, in return, placed JUST at 601+ according to the QS World University Ranking System. JUST has been ranked 301 according to the following indicators: academic reputation, reviews by recruiters who hire JUST graduates, faculty student. JUST has established the Academic Development & Quality Assurance Center (ADQAC), which aims at improving standards of teaching and learning at JUST.
Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan
Founded in 1991, Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) is the only private and non-profit university in Jordan. It is owned by the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) and is the academic arm of El Hassan Science City. The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship is part of PSUT. PSUT offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees in Computing Sciences, Engineering and Business and Technology. Power and Energy Department is attracting more students and researches due to the unprecedented interest in the field, mainly in Renewable Energy focusing on Solar and Wind. Also, Masters of Science (M.Sc) degrees are conferred in Computer Science and Environmental Management, Computer Security & Criminology, Electrical Engineering, Enterprise System Engineering, as well as Global Master of Business Administration. PSUT has participated in many European projects as a grant holder or as a partner.
The University of Jordan, Jordan
The University of Jordan (UJ) was established in 1962, since then it has applied itself to research and community research knowledge. UJ offers 63 international programs at the undergraduate level, and 132 international programs at the graduate level in all field of specialization. Also It offers 32 doctoral programs and 87 master programs. The essential components of most of the programs offered are based on dialogue, applied research, creative thinking, field work, practical training, combined with modern teaching techniques. Since its establishment in 1974, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology has always strived for keeping up with the latest developments in energy applications.

The National Energy Research Center (NERC) has been established in 1998 for the purpose of research, development, training in the fields of new and renewable energy and raising the efficiency of using energy in the different economic sectors and to promote the utilization of renewable energy in Jordan. The center was staffed with a team of qualified engineers who were trained and equipped with all needed instruments. The center specializes in the following fields: Energy Efficiency & Solar Thermal Energy, Photovoltaics, Wind Energy, and Bio-Energy & Oil shale. NERC is part of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) which is the largest applied research institution, consultancy, and technical support service provider in Jordan and is a regional leader in the fields of science & technology.
